This week was the start of how the land negotiations next door is affecting Norfolk. CD 98.9 told you first about the land “hold” or “freeze” by the province, which affects 3 properties in Norfolk.  The fallout was the Mayor extremely frustrated and upset that he had not been told. Since then he has issued a press release that says, “this hold does not affect any plans Norfolk might have relative to the development of county property” and that he”has been assured that the…properties will not be turned over to the First Nations”.

On Monday night, the shelter that protestors have been using at the Douglas Creek Estates was set on fire.   It was either doused in gas and lit, or had a firebomb thrown at it.   What if someone had been inside sleeping?  

It is just a matter of time, before someone gets killed in this dispute.   There has been too many close calls, OPP officers getting injured during protests and raids, and now this. 
What will take to get the government to take this matter seriously?

Hey Howard, was it just me, or did the Big Bang Theory seem short on Monday night?   Is it becoming such a hit now that they are playing more commercials?   I read this morning that the show will only last a couple of weeks because of the writers strike.

Calvary Church Simcoe’s Annual Children’s Christmas Production this year will focus on the stories surrounding the Halifax Harbour Explosion of 1917.  This production
will occur 90 years to the day and even moment of the actual explosion. The dates
are Wed Dec 5 and Thursday Dec 6 for Public School children and Saturday Dec 8 and 9
for public performances.  We have informed the Mayor of Halifax of this event and invited their response. Mayor Dennis Travale of Norfolk County has also been
informed.
