A Delhi man has been given a conditional discharge after he pleaded guilty to careless storage of firearms. This morning, a Simcoe courtroom heard OPP were called to his home in June for a possible domestic situation. While inside the home, OPP found several guns, some unlocked and without trigger locks and others that were not registered. The man's lawyer claimed the unregistered guns were in fact registered but under the old government system. The man was given a conditional discharge, 12 months probation and told his firearms would be returned once they were properly registered. His name is not being released because of the domestic connection.

Glad to see a firearms owner having the chance at getting his possessions back.

right on Winc! People that say that guns are a problem don't realize the problems with racoons and coyotes. You know why no one registered their guns? If the criminals don't, why should we?

You do realize 2tier, that criminals only become criminals when they do something illegal. In other words the man that shot the OPP officer, or the teen that shot the 3 women near Belleville were not criminals until they did those deeds.

So they could have been either law abiding citizens with no registered guns...like yourself, or could have been a criminal with registered guns. The argument doesn't hold water.
