The Canadian Council of the Blind is looking to educate locals on the changing situations of people who are blind and vision impaired as part of White Cane Week. The idea of White Cane week stems from an English photographer who was blinded in an accident and decided to paint his cane white so it could be easily seen at night. The goal of White Cane week is to emphasize the equal capabilities and talents of people who are blind and vision impaired.
