I think that we have a potential candidate for this award - one who also chooses to spend some time posting at this site.

Here are the questions your application or nomination will need to answer:

1. Do you demonstrate leadership?
2. Do you give back to your community and Canadian agriculture?
3. Do you have a passion for agriculture?
4. Do you have a vision for the future of the industry?

And I would add that anyone choosing to be identifiable and to still post on a local public anonymous board indicates a “courage” that should also be one of the criteria.

The application form requires personal information that can be supplied only by the nominees. I would recommend that our local expert on agriculture - Leasa - consider completing an application.

I do thank you for the good thought BG, that was very nice of you. However, I have nominated someone for this award. A woman who has done loads more than I ever have for agriculture and is deserving of this award. I am so busy with my own business, I do not have much more time than the posting I do here and a few well placed letters. Really, there are women in agriculture who have devoted their lives to committees, organizations, have become lobbyists for our cause. I'm just part of the team, cheering them on. L

I do hope that Leasa takes the suggestions seriously!

I apologize to Leasa to use this potential positive thread for announcing the expiration of BigGuy.

When BigGuy first joined this CD98.9 board, he stated then that he was here for a short time and not necessarily for a good time.

It is really going to be for a short time!

This is the last visit and post from BigGuy.

The “BigGuy” and “Big Guy” pseudonym was created about 10 years ago on a number of local boards as a “lark” to test the possibility of “branding” a character on a local anonymous public access bulletin board. The intention of the creator was to establish a character that was an irritating, pompous and a prissy twit that would automatically generate opposition based on format and delivery. The Big Guy avatar would generally post his own mind and surprisingly soon became an established (but irritating) avatar. This character could easily elicit a negative reaction from any naïve participant who actually believed that they were communicating with persons who were accountable for what they posted. Meanwhile, Big Guy submitted his real views (sometimes the same opinions) under his real name to local media for publications. Many chose to publish them.

Big Guy continues the process and finds that about half of his submissions are deemed worthy by those publications.

Big Guy originally began posting on local boards for a number of different reasons – one of which was an effort to get up the nose of the rednecks that usually participate in local bulletin boards. It was very effective. It was really a lark to read the responses!! That avatar was created about 9 years ago and it really is now time for BigGuy and Big Guy to be retired!

The creator of Big Guy has recently accepted a surprisingly generous contract that has put him in a situation where he is working on a project where he has been offered control and access to 4 different computer networks with their own ISP’s.

The creator of BigGuy and Big Guy (and whatever) has now chosen to retire his avatar and go anonymous and have some fun! I intend to rejoin all of the local boards under anonymous pseudonyms.

Hey, Stevef, beach comber, Barganini (SkullyCapone - take a bow Mike - [bug buster]), Norfolkian(same), Boris et al - and that pathetic angry adolescent in angst – brent – I am joining you in the shadows on ALL of the local boards. I really do know who you “really are” and intend that you receive the appropriate credit for your contributions. Did you really think that you are anonymous?

As most of you who are still reading will probably know, I do have the ability and volition to create characters as to my whims and at will. My authored submissions to local media are now accepted without a need for me to test them here. I no longer need bulletin boards as test sites.

The creator of Big Guy has now chosen to enter the gutter and into a level playing field with the majority members of this board, he shall choose a pseudonym (and/or change it at will), and congratulate or crap on you at will. I am not sure of just how much time I have to play this game.

For the last time from “Big Guy” – Canada, what a wonderful place to live.

I assume that there are a number of individuals who are foaming at the mouth in an attempt to respond. Please do so.

But Big Guy or BigGuy is now gone – I have put him out to pasture!

But the creator of Big Guy is now looking over your shoulder!

He is … ?

Leasa – you are still that best person for that accolade.

Go for it!

BG, Al, we go back now what, 12 years? I remember that before we realized our political differences we actually started out as friends. I do think in a way we were always friends because we are both stubborn and love a good heated debate. I know I for the most part enjoyed BG on Kwic. Sometimes you would leave me so furious that I couldn't wait until I had time to set you straight. (LOL)

I watched your opinions change over time, as you did mine.

You know, if I could suggest something...try just posting under Al, everywhere. Be proud of your convictions and be ready to defend those convictions. Some people will love you for it, and some will hate you (as you already know).

I try to never say anything in print that I would not say in person. People will get to know you and either skip your posts or get excited to see what you've written and eagerly eat them up.

Be who you are, be proud of who you are. We will never agree on our politics and I imagine we will lock horns again and I hope it gets heated and passionate.

Think about my advice. L

Say it ain't so (not about Leasa)

As I posted earlier...we've heard this before from BigGuy:

"I am not comfortable posting under any kind of rules which I consider to be some form of censorship.

If there is anybody who wants to dialogue with Big Guy then they will have to use other local, non-censored forums.

I thank the owners of this board for allowing my previous participation.

oodbye."

Any person that creates an "irritating, pompous and a prissy twit that would automatically generate opposition based on format and delivery" and keeps that fiction for 10 years is in need of serious help. I doubt any of that is true. In fact you surely are an "irritating, pompous and a prissy twit that would automatically generate opposition based on format and delivery". You wore out your welcome on all of the local boards and elsewhere and are running away as a few people got a little too close to who you really are. Amusing that you would use the tactic of a 10 year old, "I didn't mean it I was pretending". Pathetic.
Of course you iced your adios with threats to those who you couldn't bully and actually challenged you. Remember to take your Prozac.

I'm glad you really know who I am.

You don't...but keep thinking that you do. You know why? Because I have created a 'character' just like you, only mine is to expose hypocrisy.

So from character to character, no hard feelings. Since you know who I am...send me an e-mail and we'll have drinks.
