Union officials and local politicians agree the closing of the Ford plant in St. Thomas will kill thousands of jobs in the area. The C-A-W estimates as many as 9-thousand spinoff jobs will be lost - on top of the 14-hundred workers employed by the plant which will close in 2011. An auto industry analyst says 25-hundred jobs could be lost among parts suppliers alone. The C-A-W says the area is probably the second-hardest hit in Canada - after Windsor.
