MPP Toby Barrett has finally received an answer to his request for Land dispute hearings, after Nearly 11 months of waiting; the local representative says the response is far from acceptable. Barrett presented the Petition to the Legislature On December 11, 2007 requesting that the province commence public hearings through a select or standing committee. Barrett said what he asked for on behalf of the people of Caledonia and Haldimand County was not unreasonable. According to the legislative Standings Orders petitions must be responded to within 24 days. According to Barrett, Minister Duguid said a report arising out of the Ipperwash Inquiry included a road map for progress in relations with First Nations and Metis people and the government is following those guidelines.

Mcguinty has long ignored norfolk and all of rural ontario, he is the biggest scumbag politican that ever held power in our province. So dont ever expect this dirtbag to ever help caledonia or tobacco farmers.

The Ipperwash Inquiry was, and still is a joke. If it was actually a legal poroceeding, it would have got tossed out of court due to insufficient evidence. Three key witnesses mysteriously died shortly before they were to testify before the inquiry. Since the Ipperwash Inquiry had no legal standing, it was allowed to proceed. And our Provincial government takes this one sided template to deal with native occupations. That, is why the Ipperwash Inquiry is a joke!

Once again...Tobacco and Caledonia are federal issues. Maybe you should be complaining to the newely elected regime.

Specifically, talk to the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, and Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food

Give your head a shake.
